I’ve had this show for about 30 day and their still not broken in. The first day I wore these shoes I got blisters on the back of the ankle because the heel leather wouldn’t bend with my step. Mink Oil will not soften the leather either.

Buyers beware. The shoes run large, not a problem as I reordered a pair half a size smaller. Zappos sent the order out fast, as always. The smaller shoes fit but one shoe was obviously used. The rear heel on the left shoe was chamfered and the toe box leather was creased. The right shoe was brand new. Strange! I had an event that next day and sucked it up keep the shoes anyway. But I am disappointed in Zappos.

It is an awesome chukka in terms of style and comfort. Can it be improved upon? Certainly. The construction is not the most solid. After just a few times wearing it, I started to notice something that looked like thread coming out from between the sole and the upper. It’s not the white stitching that goes around the boot, but something black and thin. So far, there’s no indication that the sole is detaching from the boot, but only time will tell if there are practical consequences. The leather starts to show crease marks after the first wear, but that’s not a problem for me since I like the worn look it is developing.
Note that the leather in the back is REALLY stiff out of the box. After the first time wearing it, I got NASTY blisters on the back of my ankles. After the blisters healed, I went back to wearing the boots but only with a bit of protection (surgical tape) where the leather hit the spot that blistered. After two more days of use, I tried removing the tape and I got no more blisters. Low down: this spot needs some break in time to be comfortable.
I’d still buy these boots again. In spite of these points, they are comfortable and they look great with jeans and khakis.

Good looking shoe! I like them. I have only worn them 3 times so they are still breaking in but I love the look. Fit true to size. Arch support feels good.

These shoe look great and the color was very natural.
The problem was that they felt smaller and narrower than advertised.
It is a brand thing.
I have other shoes that are labeled the same size that fit great, and others the that I have to wear two pairs of socks to keep them from slipping.
Order a half size bigger and they’ll probably be alright.
I made this suggestion to Zappos years ago and I’ll make it again now.
Zappos should come up with a set of Zappos standards that there suppliers could compare their sizes to.
For example, a “Brand X” in size 10 medium would be a Zappos size 10 ½ wide.
Once you knew your Zappos size you could always order the right size.
I can’t believe that free returns is a cheaper way to go.

They were incredibly small and narrow, I would recommend ordering at least one full size larger than you normally wear.

I bought these for my son as he has finally decided that he doesn’t want to wear sneakers everyday (hallelujah!). Although worth noting these must have some nice style if a high schooler liked them =) After reading the reviews I decided to order a half size up. When he tried them on they looked like clown shoes they were so big. I am going to reorder them in a half size down. Fingers crossed.

I loved the style of shoe. However, after wearing them about 6 or 7 times, one shoe (the left) became noticeably more creased that the right. Within a month (or 10 or 11 times wearing them) they looked completely different — like ‘before and after’. The left shoe was obviously defective.

I love these boots! They look amazing in slacks and jeans. Comfort is pretty good. I’d say 8 out of 10. They perform well when walking through snow, at least from my car to the entrance of my office building. Two thumbs up!

These are some of my favorite boots! They are both great looking and durable. My last pair are still in fairly good condition after 4 years of nearly daily use. The main reason I bought another pair was that they now come in wide which fit my foot much better.

Best shoe I have ever bought. After wearing it constantly in the winter months in moderately snowy climate I finally, need to get it retreaded to keep the shoe kicking long term. Only downside is lack of tread on the bottom of the sole which probably led to this. Just wish there was a more robust tread option.
